Problem: Operators frequently encounter a persistent "Low Coolant Level" alarm on the monitor panel of the Komatsu PC200-8 Excavator, even when the radiator reservoir is full.
Diagnosis: This is often caused by a malfunctioning Float Switch (7861-92-4800). Over time, sediment in the coolant can cause the magnetic float to stick in the "down" position, or the internal reed switch may fail due to vibration.
Solution:
Drain the coolant from the expansion tank.
Remove the sensor connector and unscrew the sensor.
Inspect for sludge. If clean, test continuity with a multimeter.
If the switch does not change state when the float is moved, replace immediately with our high-quality aftermarket 7861-92-4800 sensor.
Refill coolant and check for leaks.
